Another Week, Another Run Club!
I missed you all last week while I was recovering from ski cramping but I’m happy to report I’m feeling much better now and am so excited to get back in a groove with you. It’s been so warm here!
HI! If you’re new here: Welcome to Happy Pace Run Club. Our returning friends know the drill; a new guide to run club drops every Friday with everything you need. Don’t forget your Run Club Receipt (a cutie pic with an even cuter name) and subscribe to this Substack to share it in our group chat and make some new running friends. We can’t wait to support you on your running journey and cheer you to your goals whether that’s an upcoming race or just adding some more movement into your life.
RUNNING DISTANCE
3.5 miles
Since it’s so warm out this week, I wanted to get outside and enjoy a little bit of nature at the Hollywood Reservoir.
The Hollywood Reservoir is a not so hidden gem here in LA, and is even more stunning in person. The loop is 3.5 miles and is a mix of sun and shade, with a view of the Hollywood sign the whole time so I thought we’d share that distance together and I’m sending some sunshine to you too!
FRIDAY FUEL
One of my favorite parts of living in LA is the FOOD.
Bravo Toast is my go to spot when I’m feeling a little lazy in the kitchen. An avocado toast with scrambled egg is just what my body needs before taking on a run.
I’ve been thinking a lot about proteins as I’m getting deeper into Ironman training and so this is a fun, healthy way to eat my eggies! (hard boiled every morning is starting to get a little boring haha)
Oh…and always a little drink too. It was an iced chai kind of morning in my house.
COLOR OF THE WEEK
This week’s color is…
NEON!
Yellow, green, orange, pink, blue… any will do as long as they are highlighter bright! :)
My outfit photographed is linked below:
WARM UP RITUAL
I LOVE a dynamic stretch right before a run. It’s important to listen to your body and modify your stretching routine based on your needs. As always, my warmups are currently following what Runna is recommended for me before any of my runs.
Use code ANNAXSITAR for a free trial period!
The LA marathon is next weekend (EEK!) so making sure I continue to stay loose and healthy means taking a little extra time stretching on every run! Encouraging minimal injuries on long runs and not working out on cold muscles is super important.
HAPPY HEADSPACE
This week's thoughts are as follows during your run:
The “been waiting on that sunshine boy i think i need that back” trend has been ALL over my fyp this week on TikTok. And it got me thinking…
What are things in your life that are like sunshine to you?
People always ask how to get through a longer run (like a marathon) mentally. And I feel like my go to is thinking of my little sunshines in my life. My friends, family, ALL OF YOU!!! When you feel like you’re hitting a wall, focus on your sunshine and find your happy pace :)
RUN CLUB RECEIPT
Gather around! It’s time to share the pose of the week for run club…

YOU DID IT!
Team - I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! Another week in the books. Every time I see a new notification from Substack on my phone, I remember someone within our run club just checked off a goal this week. And I hope you know it makes me rejoice!
I’m so happy you’re here. See you on Monday! I’m wishing you a safe, healthy, and very happy weekend with lots of love.
xx,
Anna X
